Az Abbey pH-toll használatához húzzon egy kis vonalat vagy foltot a vizsgált anyag egy nem feltűnő területére. Ha a jel halványsárga, a papír savas. Ha a jel halványlila, a papír semleges vagy lúgos. Közepes savasságú papírokon a jel a sárga és a lila színt ötvöző barnás színű lesz.

When placed inside a closed can, bag, box or cabinet in the presence of acidic vapour given off by degrading film A-D Strips change colour to indicate the severity of the level of acidity.

The color change on the indicator shows you the severity of decay. The length of necessary monitoring depends on the temperature. At 20 degrees, the test can be done in 24 hours. In colder temps, keep the strip next to the subject for 2-3 days. After the test, compare to the attached control strip. If the strip changes to olive color (ph 4,6), you have reached the critical autocatalytic point, where the subject should be separated from the rest of the collection (and duplicated). Safety gloves and proper ventillation recommended.
